About the author

The head up display ( HUD ) is usefull for keeping the pilot's eyes focused outside the cockpit and for providing vital information about the flight.

The HUD in Micro Flight was built to resemble the one used in fighter jets and containes detailed flight and weapon information.

Press H or Joystick button 3 to activate the HUD :

1. normal acceleration ( g ) 10. vertical speed ( fpm )
2. flight speed ( kt ) 11. attitude ( deg )
3. normal acceleration ( g ) 12. boresight
4. weapon selection 13. flight path indicator ( bird )
5. next waypoint 14. lock-on indicator
6. compass
7. gps reading
8. vertical speed ( fpm )
9. altitude ( ft )

Notes:

When the head up display is shown and a weapon is selected, the weapon will lock on any flying plane in it's field of view and a rectangle will be drawn around the target, weapons can be fired even if not locked on any target.

Some gliders, such as Hanggliders, do not have any flying instruments, for these in particular the HUD is usefull for providing flight data.

The HUD can be seen even when no glider is selected, but then some of the data will not be displayed.
